SYMPTOMS

When you start your computer, you may receive the following error message:
PTLACPI Caution opendll() failed

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the Sony PowerPanel program is installed on the computer. This program may prevent your computer from starting correctly.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, remove the Sony PowerPanel program from your computer. For more information about how to do this, visit the following Sony Web site:http://www.ita.sel.sony.com/support

Note If your computer does not start, start it in safe mode, and then remove the Sony PowerPanel program.
