Dynamic Submenus on Web Pages Appear Transparent and Are Unreadable (827557)

SYMPTOMS When use Microsoft Internet Explorer
6 to open a Web page, and then you click a Web page submenu, you find that the dynamic submenu appears transparent and is unreadable. CAUSE This problem may occur with some Web page that use dynamic
submenus if you have the Ignore colors specified on Web pages
accessibility option turned on in Internet Explorer.
The
Ignore colors specified on Web pages accessibility option
specifies whether you want Internet Explorer to always use the color settings
that you select for text, background, and links. If Web page
author selects different colors for text and background, the
settings that you choose override them.
Note You cannot change the size or
color of graphics. RESOLUTIONA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Internet Explorer 6 service pack that contains this hotfix. The English version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

Colors Specified on Web Pages accessibility option in Internet
Explorer. To do so, follow these steps:
- Click Tools, and then click Internet
Options.
- Click the General tab, and then click Accessibility.
- In the Accessibility dialog box, click to
clear the Ignore Colors specified on Web pages check box, and
then click OK.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.
