Screensaver Starts While Watching Live TV (827541)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004

SYMPTOMS

When you view a Live TV show in an inset window, such as when you view the TV Guide with the Live TV screen in a small window, your screensaver starts if you let your computer remain idle long enough for the screensaver to start.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Live TV screen is smaller than full-screen. This behavior does not occur when you view Live TV full-screen.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, turn off your screen saver or increase the wait time before the screensaver automatically turns on.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
