Manually remove the Windows Installer references to Office XP Developer

To remove the Windows Installer references to Office XP Developer, you must use the Msizap.exe command-line tool. The Msizap.exe command-line tool is available with the Windows Installer Software Development Kit (SDK). If you do not have the Windows Installer SDK on your computer, you must install the Windows Installer SDK now. For additional information about how to download the Windows Installer SDK, visit the following Microsoft Web site:After you install the Windows Installer SDK on your computer, the Msizap.exe command-line tool is located in the following directory:

<Installation Drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft SDK\Bin

To remove the Windows Installer references to Office XP Developer, follow these steps.

Warning The Msizap.exe command-line tool may cause other programs that you previously installed with Windows Installer to fail. For additional information, see the Microsoft Platform SDK documentation.
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
  3. At the command prompt, move to the directory where the Msizap.exe command-line tool is located.

Manually remove the registry keys

Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

After you remove the Windows Installer references to Office XP Developer, you must remove the registry keys that may remain by using Registry Editor. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type Regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
  3. In the Registry Editor window, locate, and then delete the following registry keys if the following registry keys exist:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{AF80A6B2-B9A0-11D3-A528-00A0C9231BA1}

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Integration\{4E15ED81-20DD-4469-AF81-796DB21AC7DE}
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office Developer
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Microsoft Office XP Developer - English

      Note This registry key removes the Office XP Developer entry in Add or Remove Programs on your computer. Therefore, the name of the registry key may vary based on the language that Office XP Developer is installed with on your computer.

Manually remove the program folders and the temporary files

You must remove the Office XP Developer program folders and the Office XP Developer temporary files that exist on your computer. To remove the program folders and the temporary files, follow these steps:

Remove the program folders
  1. Start Windows Explorer.
  2. Locate the following program folders and then delete the following program folders from your computer:
    • <installation drive>\<path>\Program Files\Microsoft Office Developer
    • <installation drive>\<path>\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Microsoft Office Developer

      Note You may have to replace the <installation drive> variable and the <path> variable with the appropriate installation drive name and the appropriate path name that are associated with the Program Files folder.
  3. Close Windows Explorer.
Remove the temporary files
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type %temp% in the Open box, and then click OK.
  3. In the folder that is open in Windows Explorer, delete all the temporary files.
After you remove the Windows Installer references to Office XP Developer, after you remove the registry keys, and after you remove the program folders and the temporary files that are associated with Office XP Developer, the Office XP Developer installation is completely removed from your computer. To verify that this is true, you can use Add or Remove Programs to view the list of programs that are installed on your computer.
