IIS settings are missing after you run Sysprep with the -nosidgen command-line switch (827385)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional
- Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
none:SRX030708602939 SYMPTOMSAfter you install Microsoft Internet Information Services
(IIS) and then run the Sysprep tool with the -nosidgen command-line switch, the IIS settings and IIS components are
missing from the resulting Sysprep image. For example, when you open the
Internet Information Services snap-in, the Default Web Site
and the Default FTP Site entries that were previously
configured on the computer are missing. CAUSEThis problem occurs because information that is required for
Windows to access the IIS metabase is incorrectly deleted when you run Sysprep
with the -nosidgen switch. As a result, Windows cannot access the IIS configuration
information.RESOLUTIONService pack informationTo resolve
