This article describes the Allow script in shared folders and the Allow script in Public Folders check boxes that are located in the Advanced Options dialog box of Outlook 2003.

The Allow script in shared folders and the Allow script in Public Folders check boxes in the Advanced Options dialog box of Outlook 2003 grant or deny the right to have a homepage in a shared folder or in a public folder with scripts.

To use the Advanced Options dialog box in Outlook 2003, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. In the Options dialog box, click the Other tab, and then click Advanced Options.
  3. The check boxes are located in the General Settings pane.
By default, the Allow script in shared folders check box is not selected, and the Allow script in Public Folders check box is selected.

An administrator can configure these settings by using either group policies or the Custom Installation Wizard (CIW). The CIW is included in the Microsoft Office 2003 Resource Kit.
