FIX: The Romimage.exe Tool Unexpectedly Stops Responding Because There Is Not Sufficient Image Space (826880)

SYMPTOMS

The Romimage.exe tool may stop responding and you may receive an error message that indicates that there is not sufficient ROM image space. This may occur even though the calculated space that you require is less than the available space.

CAUSE

The Romimage.exe internal section management may not correctly account for some free space.

RESOLUTION

This fix improves Romimage.exe efficiency and resolves the problem that is described in the "Symptoms" section.

For computers that do not experience this problem, this fix may result in smaller ROM images.
