OneNote 2003 saves all pages of a section when you save pages as OneNote sections (826805)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Office OneNote 2003
  • Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, Service Pack 1 (SP1)

SYMPTOMS

When you select one or more pages in a OneNote 2003 section, and then you click Save As on the File menu, all the pages that are contained in the section are saved to your new file.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because OneNote 2003 saves all the pages that are in a section when you save the pages in the OneNote Sections file format (.one).

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, publish the pages that you want to save. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start OneNote 2003.
  2. Open the section that contains the pages that you want to save as a separate section file.
  3. While you press and hold CTRL, click the page tab of each page of the section that you want to include.
  4. With the pages selected, click Publish Pages on the File menu.
  5. In the Publish dialog box, select OneNote Sections (*.one) in the Save as type box, and then type a file name in the File name box.
  6. Click Publish.
