Additional installation instructions

To make sure that this hotfix works correctly, use the following procedure. After you apply the hotfix and after you complete the following procedure, Exchange will encode messages that use a Chinese Traditional code page by using Big5 encoding.

Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following subkey:

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeWEB

3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key.
4. Type Exoledb, and then press ENTER.
5. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
6. Type UseBIG5Codepage, and then press ENTER.
7. Double-click UseISO2022JISCodepage, type 1 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
8. Close Registry Editor.
