You Receive Memory Errors When You Try to Install or to Start Windows 2000 (826720)

SYMPTOMSYou may receive the following error message when you try to install Windows 2000: Unexpected error (1195787019) occurred at line 1562 in
D:\nt\private\ntos\boot\setup\arcdisp.c. If you complete the setup process, your computer may stop responding when the Windows logon screen appears, or when a black screen appears before the Windows logon screen appears. After you complete the setup process, you may also receive one or both of the following error messages: Memory Parity Error Page_Fault_in_Non-paged_area
Address A01449E2 base at A0000000 Datestamp 38438887 - win32K.sys CAUSEThis issue may occur if your computer has a faulty dual inline memory module (DIMM) socket.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, follow these steps to identify the faulty DIMM socket: - Turn off the computer.
- Open the case that contains the CPU.
- Remove all DIMMs from the motherboard.
Note Memory modules and other internal components are sensitive to static electricity and can be damaged. Make sure you are electrically grounded while performing these steps. - Insert a DIMM that you know works correctly in one of the DIMM sockets.
- Turn on the computer and try to start Windows.
- Note the DIMM socket that is in use when the errors appear. If the errors do not appear, repeat steps 1 through 4, using the same DIMM in a different DIMM socket until you receive the errors again.
Return the computer for replacement or repair, or use DIMMs only in the sockets that did not produce the errors.
