AutoUpdate Prompts You to Install Cumulative Updates That Have Been Superseded by a Later Update That You Have Already Installed (826719)

(SUS) may repeatedly offer you the same update, even if you have previously chosen to install this update.
CAUSEThis issue may occur if you do not install the updates in the correct order. This scenario may occur if the SUS administrator in your organization does not offer the updates in the correct order.MORE INFORMATIONAn older
update does not install over a newer update because newer file versions are detected on the system. Therefore, the installation of the older update is unsuccessful; however, no failure notification is sent to the AutoUpdate component. As a result, AutoUpdate interprets this installation operation as successful. Because the update was not installed successfully, you continue to be offered the update
as long as the SUS server is still offering the update.
SUS is a downloadable service from the Corporate Windows Update Web site. SUS provides a way for Information Technology managers to host and to manage the Windows Update critical updates that are applied to their corporate computers.
To prevent this issue from occurring, SUS administrators must closely monitor the correct installation order of updates that they make available to computers in their organizations.
