SYMPTOMS

When you view a Web page in Microsoft Internet Explorer, and you click the down arrow next to a list to view the options in the list, the list expands to display the options.

However, when you use Internet Explorer's zoom feature so that the Web page is larger on your screen and you try to view the options in a list, the list may not expand, and you cannot select an option from the list.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when the zoom attribute of a SELECT element is changed to some particular values. In that case, the SELECT element on a Web page may be incorrectly resized to two pixels high by the Microsoft HTML rendering engine (MSHTML).

Note A list on a Web page is a SELECT element.

The Internet Explorer zoom feature can be turned on by using a Dynamic HTML (DHTML) script, it can be turned on when you press and hold the CTRL key while you turn the wheel button on the mouse, or it can be turned on when you use the Text Size command on the View menu.

This problem may occur when you press and hold the CTRL key while you turn the wheel button on the mouse, or when you use the Text Size command on the View menu. However, this problem is most likely to occur when you use a DHTML script.
