The control buttons may not be redrawn correctly after digital media files have finished playing in Windows Media Player 9 for Pocket PC (826440)

SYMPTOMS

The control buttons in Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 for Pocket PC may not be redrawn correctly if the Soft Input Panel (SIP) is open when you return to normal view after playing a video file in the full-screen view.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you can use one of the following methods:
  • In the lower-right corner of the screen, tap the SIP button to show the SIP, and then tap the button again to close the SIP.
  • Switch to another application, and then switch back to Windows Media Player.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Open Windows Media Player.
  2. Tap Play to start playing a digital media file.
  3. Open the SIP, and then tap the Windows Media Player Full-screen button

    If the Full-screen button is not present, you can assign a button to toggle to the full-screen view. To do this, tap Tools, tap Settings, and then tap Buttons.
  4. After the file has finished playing, the lower section of the Windows Media Player window is not redrawn, and the control buttons in Windows Media Player are not displayed. The control buttons are buttons such as Play and Pause.
