SYMPTOMS

When you use the Emergency Management Services (EMS) Remotely Administered feature to access a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer through a Special Administration Console (SAC) , characters may be returned very slowly from the server to your computer. This symptom occurs when you connect to a Japanese-language edition of Windows Server 2003, and the server returns strings that contain characters from a double-byte character set (DBCS) to your computer.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
