File Explorer Copy Operations Are Very Slow When You Use Icon View (826115)

SYMPTOMS

Copy operations that use File Explorer are slow when you use icon view.

CAUSE

When you view a folder in icon view mode, and the folder contains more items than the screen can display at one time, a paint message is sent to the Listview window. The paint message is not cleared from the message queue until the copy operation is complete. Because of this, the paint message handler code executes continuously and slows down the copy operation.
