SYMPTOMS

When you run Virtual PC for Mac version 5.0 under Mac OS version 8.6 and you try to increase the size of a dynamically expanding virtual drive, your limit is 2 gigabytes (GB).

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Mac OS 8.6 file sizes are limited to 2 GB. The virtual drive is a single file on the host Macintosh.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, upgrade to the latest version of Mac OS 9.
