Create a new drive image

To create a new drive image, follow these steps:
  1. On the Window menu, click Virtual Disk Assistant.
  2. Click Create new floppy or hard disk image, and then click the right arrow to continue.
  3. Click Create hard disk image, and then click the right arrow to continue.
  4. Click Select Drive Location, select the drive where you want to create the drive image, click Continue, and then click the right arrow to continue.
  5. Click the operating system that you want to use, and then click the right arrow to continue.
  6. In the Hard disk Capacity dialog box, click Advanced Options to make any optional changes you want, and then perform one of the following steps:
    • Click Dynamically expanding drive image to create a drive image file that dynamically expands in 2 megabyte (MB) increments to the maximum size that you specify or until it uses all the available hard disk space on the host computer.
    • Click Fixed size drive image to create a drive image file of the size that you specify in the Capacity box. For example, if you create a 10 gigabyte (GB) fixed-size drive image, the file that is created is 10 GB, even if you do not load any data in the drive image file.
  7. Click Create Drive.

    Note For a large fixed-size drive image, this operation may take several minutes to complete.

Duplicate an existing drive image

To duplicate an existing drive image, follow these steps:
  1. Shut down the PC that has the drive image that you want to duplicate.
  2. Use the Finder to locate and then click the drive image that you want to duplicate.
  3. On the File menu, click Duplicate.
