You cannot install or upgrade Virtual PC (825520)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to install or upgrade any one of the products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article, you may receive an error message that is similar to one of the following error messages: The current C drive container is part of a saved state. Please launch
and quit Virtual PC without saving state and rerun the installer. The operation cannot be completed because the item "Virtual PC 6" is in use. CAUSEThis problem may occur if Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac 6.1 or Connectix Virtual PC for Mac 6.0.2 or earlier is running on your computer.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, quit Virtual PC, and then run the installation or upgrade again. To do so, follow these steps: - Open Virtual PC.
- Quit Virtual PC. To do so, follow the method for your operating system:
- For Mac OS X, on the Virtual PC menu, click Quit Virtual PC.
- For Mac OX 9, on the File menu, click Quit.
- If you are prompted to save the PC State, click Quit.
- Install or upgrade Virtual PC again.
