SUMMARY

This article discusses how to use Microsoft Windows-based virus scanning software or Windows-based virus eradication software on a Windows-based virtual machine in Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac.

MORE INFORMATION

You can use Windows-based virus utilities in Virtual PC for Mac. These utilities can be installed and used on Windows-based virtual machines.

As an alternative to using these utilities to clean a Windows-based drive image that is infected with a virus, you can delete the drive image and then replace it with another drive image from the Virtual PC for Mac CD, or you can replace it with another drive image from a backup.

Note Replacement of the drive image deletes all the data on the drive image.

After you add the new drive image, visit the Microsoft Windows Update Web site to install all critical updates: Note Typically, computer viruses that are designed to infect one computer operating system do not infect another computer operating system. For example, a virus that is designed to infect Windows does not typically infect Apple Mac OS.
