You cannot print to a dot matrix printer from Virtual PC for Mac (825475)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1
  • Connectix Virtual PC for Mac version 6.0
  • Connectix Virtual PC for Mac version 5.0

SYMPTOMS

You cannot print to a dot matrix printer from Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac or from Connectix Virtual PC for Mac.

CAUSE

Dot matrix printers are not supported by Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac version 6.l, by Connectix Virtual PC for Mac version 6, or by Connectix Virtual PC for Mac version 5.

WORKAROUND

To print text to a dot matrix printer, do one of the following:
  • Copy the text from the PC program, paste the text into a Macintosh text editor such as SimpleText, and then print from SimpleText to thedot matrix printer.
  • Save the document in the Microsoft Word for Mac 2000 format, and then print from Word to the dot matrix printer.
