Mac OS X

The following list describes the minimum hardware and software requirements to run Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1 on Apple Mac OS X:
  • 500 megahertz (MHz) or faster native G3 or G4 Macintosh computer with a CD-ROM drive.

    Note Virtual PC for Mac versions 6.1 and earlier do not run on the G5 Macintosh.

    Note Upgrade cards and accelerators are not supported.
  • Mac OS X 10.1.5 or later.
  • 256 megabytes (MB) of physical memory to run Microsoft Windows XP Professional as a guest operating system.
  • 2 gigabytes (GB) of free hard disk space.

Mac OS 9

The following list describes the minimum hardware and software requirements to run Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1 on Apple Mac OS 9:
  • Any native G3 or G4 Macintosh computer with a CD-ROM drive.

    Note Upgrade cards and accelerators are not supported.
  • Mac OS X 9.2.2.
  • 192 MB of physical memory to run Microsoft Windows XP Professional as a guest operating system.
  • 2 GB of free hard disk space.
