You Cannot Use the "Edit" Command in a PC DOS 2000 Guest Operating System (825423)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the PC DOS 2000 guest operating system that is included with Connectix Virtual PC, you cannot use the edit command to edit DOS files.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because PC DOS 2000 does not include the edit command.

RESOLUTION

To edit files in PC DOS 2000, type e, and then press ENTER. To edit a specific file, for example, Config.sys, type e config.sys, and then press ENTER.

MORE INFORMATION

PC DOS 2000 is only included with retail versions of Virtual PC. The trial version of Virtual PC and some volume license versions do not include PC DOS 2000.
