"Error -34 disk full" error message when you install a drive image file in Virtual PC for Mac (825408)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1
  • Connectix Virtual PC for Mac version 6.0

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install a drive image file in Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac, you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
Error -34 disk full

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when the drive image file is slightly smaller than the available space on the hard disk. For example, this problem occurs if the hard disk has 1.1 gigabyte (GB) of available space, and the drive image file is 1 GB.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, make more free space on the hard disk, and then install the drive image file again.
