You cannot print to an Epson Stylus C80-series printer in Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac (825407)



The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1
  • Connectix Virtual PC for Mac version 6.0

SYMPTOMS

You cannot print to an Epson Stylus C80-series printer in Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac from a Microsoft Windows 98-based virtual machine.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the Epson Stylus C80 printer driver is configured to use a parallel port instead of the USB port. Typically, the parallel port that is configured is the LPT1 port.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, you must reset the printer configuration to the Virtual PC printing mode that you want to use:
  • Emulated printing
  • Networked printing
  • Universal serial bus (USB) printing
