You cannot install Virtual PC for Mac from the CD-ROM (825402)

RESOLUTION

• Clean the CD-ROM

  Use a soft cloth to gently clean the shiny surface of the CD-ROM. If the CD-ROM is dusty or has fingerprints on it, clean it with mild soap and a soft cloth. Alternatively, you may try to clean the CD-ROM with damp bath tissue; however, some bath tissues contain lanolin or other ingredients that may leave a film. If you clean the CD-ROM with damp bath tissue, dry the CD-ROM completely.
  
  When you clean and dry the disc, wipe in a straight line from the center to the edge of the CD-ROM. Do not wipe the CD-ROM in a circle. You may have to clean the surface several times.
  
  Visually examine the CD-ROM for scratches. If the CD-ROM is scratched, you may not be able to retrieve the information that is on it, and you may have to purchase a replacement CD-ROM to install the program. For replacement Microsoft software, contact the Microsoft Order Desk at (800) 360-7561.

• Copy the CD-ROM to the hard disk

  Save a copy of the Virtual PC for Mac CD-ROM to your computer hard disk. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Quit all open programs.
  2. Insert the Virtual PC for Mac CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
  3. Hold down the OPTION key, and then drag the CD-ROM icon on the desktop to the hard disk icon.
     
     Note If the CD-ROM contains errors, you may find it difficult to copy the contents to the hard disk drive.
  4. Open the copy of the CD-ROM, and then run the Virtual PC installation program.
