MORE INFORMATION

When you use Mac OS X with Virtual PC, you can include the Windows Start Menu and the Windows-based program icons in the Mac OS X Dock.

Note This feature is not available for Windows 95 and Windows NT.

To change the Dock settings, follow these steps:
  1. On the Windows menu, click Virtual PC List.
  2. Click the virtual machine that you want.
  3. Click Settings, and then click the Dock setting.
  4. Select the options that you want, and then take one of the following actions:
    • Click to select the Show Windows applications in Dock check box. As a result, the Windows program icon appears in the Mac OS X Dock while the Windows program is running.

Note To retain the Windows program icon after you quit the Windows program, the virtual machine, and Virtual PC, right-click the icon, and then click Keep In Dock. To remove an icon from the Dock, drag the icon out of the Dock.
    • Click to select the Show Start Menu in Dock check box to show the Windows Start Menu of this virtual machine in the Mac OS X Dock.

Note When you select this option, the option is cleared for other Windows virtual machines. Only one Windows Start Menu may be displaced at a time in the Mac OS X Dock.
  5. Click OK.
