MORE INFORMATION

Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
After you install this hotfix, you must edit the registry on your Exchange 2000 computer to add the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeWEB\EXOLEDB\PFContactItemDefaultLCID. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  2. Expand the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeWEB
  3. Right-click MSExchangeWEB, point to New, and then click Key.
  4. Type EXOLEDB, and then press ENTER to name the new subkey.
  5. Right-click EXOLEDB, point to New, and then click DWORD.
  6. Type PFContactItemDefaultLCID, and then press ENTER to name the new value.
  7. Right-click PFContactItemDefaultLCID, and then click Modify.
  8. In the Value data box, type the language ID that corresponds to the default language address card format that you want to use, and then click OK. For example, if you want to use the Japanese format, type 0x411 in the Value data box, click Hexadecimal, and then click OK.

For more information about the language ID to use for the language you want to set as the default, visit the following MSDN Web page: http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/reference/win2k/setup/langid.mspx
  9. Close Registry Editor.
Note After you apply this hotfix, only new Contacts are formatted in the language format that you choose. All the Contacts that existed before you applied the hotfix are still in the following format order: Street, City, State/Province, Postal Code.
