Guest Operating System Network Shares Are Not Available on the Network (825351)



The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1
  • Connectix Virtual PC for Mac version 6.0

SYMPTOMS

If you share a folder from the guest operating system to your network, the folder may not be available to other computers on the network.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because your virtual machine uses Shared Networking and not Virtual Switch networking to connect to the network.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you must configure your virtual machine to use Virtual Switch networking to connect to your network.
