You Cannot Open, Read, or Write to Multimedia Files in Shared Folders (825348)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1

SYMPTOMS

When you try to play MP3 files or MPEG files from a shared folder in Virtual PC for Mac, you may receive error messages that state that the file is damaged or corrupted.
Some document files, such as MP3 files or MPEG files, cannot be accessed correctly from a shared folder when the host computer is near the minimum requirements for Virtual PC for Mac.

RESOLUTION

Copy files from the shared folder to a folder on the guest virtual computer.
