Cannot Open Documents with Word 97 If You Use the French Language Version of Windows (825346)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Connectix Virtual PC for Mac version 6.0
  • Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1

SYMPTOMS

When you try to open a document with Microsoft Word 97 in Virtual PC for Mac, the document may not open.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when both of the following conditions are true:
  • There is a space in the file name, such as Test Document.doc.
  • The virtual machine is running a French language version of Microsoft Windows.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, rename the file so that there are no spaces in the file name.
