You Experience Unexpected Behavior in Virtual PC After You Add a Third-Party Upgrade Card to Your Mac (825342)

SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade your Mac computer by adding a third-party upgrade card, such as an accelerator card, you may experience unexpected behavior in Virtual PC for Mac. This behavior may include, but may not be limited to, any of the following:
  • You receive an error message.
  • The display does not appear correctly.
  • Virtual PC does not start.
  • The virtual machine performs poorly.
  • The virtual machine stops responding (hangs).
  • The virtual machine is unstable.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Virtual PC is only supported on the original equipment that came with the Mac. Third-party upgrade cards may not be 100% compatible with all the software on your Mac, including your Mac operating system or Virtual PC for Mac.
