The User Interface (UI) of the Input Method Editors ( IME ) for East Asian languages can be configured by means of registry settings on the device. The documentation for Windows CE .NET 4.2 has been updated to include the four new topics that are listed in the "Summary" section.

These new topics include information about how to configure the UI of the Chinese IME and the Korean IME. The following topics are included:
  • How to hide the IME status window by means of a ShowState registry value.
  • How to verify the existence of an active Software-Based Input Panel (SIP) when you use Accelerators by means of the AutoCandAccel registry value.
  • How to set the orientation of the candidate list for the Korean IME by means of the Vertical registry value.

    1. Click Notification History in the Start Page window.
    2. Click Windows CE .NET 4.2 Help Update.
  3. Follow the instructions to download and install the latest help update.
  4. On the Help menu in Platform Builder, click the Index tab, and then type one of the four topics that are listed earlier in this article.
