This WebCast talks about the principles, best practices, tips and tricks to help design more secure data access applications. The main focus is on Microsoft .NET Web application development as an integral part of Microsoft solutions. The session starts with an introduction of fundamental application security design principles. It includes explaining security threats by using the STRIDE model, best practices for developing applications with improved security, and tools and tips in .NET Framework. Then it concentrates specifically on designing secure data access applications. The major design considerations will be reviewed and solutions and guidelines will be provided for each one.

This is a Level 300 session that will be presented by Yilei Wang. Yilei Wang is a Developer Support Professional on the Visual Basic WebData team. She has a master's degree in Computer Science and an MCSD certification. She specializes in and supports Visual Basic and ADO.NET.
