Session Summary

The Support WebCast will discuss what information you
must have to do an architectural review, how to obtain the information, and
then how to perform the review. It will review how to design the configuration
and select the correct configuration. The session will talk about the
techniques of sizing and introduce the new MOM 2000 SP1 Management Sizer. It
will also talk about how to size the components, the network, and the database.
It will discuss RAID selection, reporting, reporting methods, and the DTS
package. Finally, the Support WebCast will talk about how to put it all
together including the diagrams, the document, and the
presentation.
This is a
Level
300 session that will be presented by Steve Adrien DeLuca. Steve is
a Program Manager responsible for developing performance tools. He has been
working in the MOM development team as a performance engineer since the
beginning of the MOM project two and one-half years ago, and wrote the
"Performance and Sizing" white paper, and various Database Sizers that support
the MOM product. Steve has written four books on database performance and
administration for Microsoft Press and has received 13 patents for work in
Capacity Planning and Performance. Steve also currently supports the database
curriculum, and is on the database education advisory board at University of
Washington extended education program.
