Clip Art That You Download Does Not Appear in the Clip Gallery (823821)

SYMPTOMS

In an Office 2000 program, when you click a clip art image to download it to the Microsoft Clip Gallery, the clip art image does not download successfully and the download window closes. You cannot locate the clip art files that you downloaded.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if the clip art catalog is damaged. In this situation, the clip art is downloaded to the following folder on your hard disk but the clip art does not appear correctly in the Clip Art Gallery:

c:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Catalog\Downloaded Clips

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Microsoft Word.
  2. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click Clip Art.
  3. Right-click any category, and then click Recover.
  4. Click Compact.
  5. Download the clip art again.
