Document Checked Out Under Light Weight Source Control Appears As Read-Only (823744)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2002
  • FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions from Microsoft

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft FrontPage 2002, when you check out a file from the server to edit it, the file name may appear in the Folder List with a lock icon next to it indicating that the file is "read-only", instead of a red check mark indicating that the file is "read/write", as expected when you are the only user who has checked out the file. Additionally, when you right-click the name of the file that you checked out, the Check Out and Check In commands are not available.
