You receive an "Error 9456" error message when you log on to a Microsoft Project Server by using Microsoft Project 2002 (823617)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to log on to a Microsoft Project Server by using Microsoft Project 2002, you receive the following error message:
An exception occurred in the Microsoft Project Server.
Microsoft Project Server encountered a problem: Error 9456. Please contact your server administrator.
When you close the error message, you receive the following error message:
Cannot connect.
Microsoft Project was unable to establish a connection with the selected Microsoft Project Server. This could be caused by a loss of network connectivity, invalid username or password, lack of an enterprise global template, problems with the Microsoft Project Server or database, or your Microsoft Project Server may not have enterprise features enabled.
CAUSEThis behavior occurs when your logon account does not have sufficient permissions on the Project Data Service (PDS) portion of the Microsoft Project Server to access all the features and files.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this behavior, follow these steps: - From the Microsoft Project Server 2002 computer, click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type inetmgr, and then click OK. This starts the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager program.
- Expand Default Web Site.
- Click the Logon folder.
- Right-click the PDSRequest.ASP file, and then click Properties.
- Click the File Security tab.
- Click the Edit button next to Anonymous Authentication and Access Control.
- Click to select the Anonymous access check box.
- Click the Edit button.
- Click to clear the Allow IIS to control password check box.
- Enter the account and password for the local Administrator account.
- Click OK three times.
