FIX: IEHost Causes Additional Traffic on Port 80 for Sites That Are Hosted on Other Ports (821991)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0

SYMPTOMS

When you host WinForms user controls on a Web site that is bound to a port other than the default port for HTTP (80), you may find unexpected and unwanted GET requests to port 80 on the same Web server. This behavior may lead to poor download times for the user control. These download times can be up to three times longer than when the user controls are hosted on port 80.
