Smart Display Cannot Connect to the Network When You Use Your Wireless Adapter (821938)



The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

The network settings (address) of your wireless network adapters may be reconfigured or removed and your Smart Display cannot establish a network connection.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you run the Smart Display 1.0 Connection Troubleshooter on a computer that has Internet Connection Sharing turned on.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to Communications, and then click Network Setup Wizard.

    Follow the instructions to reconfigure your network settings.
  2. Click Start, and then click Help and Support.
  3. In the Pick a Help topic list, click Hardware.
  4. Click Windows Powered Smart Displays.
  5. Follow the instructions in the Configure Your Network for Smart Displays topic to manually set up the Internet Connection Sharing wireless network for use with your Smart Display.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Connection Troubleshooter version 1.0 for Microsoft Windows Powered Smart Display.
