You Receive a "Stop 0x0000001E" Error Message After You Install the 811493 Security Patch (821753)

SYMPTOMS

After you install the Microsoft 811493 security patch on your Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0 Terminal Server Edition-based computer, you receive the following Stop error message:

STOP 0x0000001E (0xc0000005, 0xa30290ce, 0x00000001, 0x7ffde034)

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Note Because of file dependencies, this hotfix requires Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows NT 4.0.
