FIX: A courtesy redirect may return the ACv1VSite# host name instead of the cluster name (821734)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Application Center 2000 SP2
SYMPTOMSA client that accesses a Microsoft Application Center 2000 cluster may receive ACv1VSite# as the host name returned, instead of receiving the cluster host name. This behavior may cause the client to return the following error message for later requests because ACv1VSite# is not a known host on the client side: "Server not found" Note This behavior does not occur on Windows Server 2003-based servers that run Application Center 2000 Service Pack 2. For more information, see the "More Information" section. CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Application Center 2000 request forwarder (RF) does not correctly handle a forwarded 302 HTTP_STATUS_REDIRECT response for a courtesy redirect. The cluster name is passed to the client. The expected behavior is that the backend host header ACv1VSite# is passed to the client.RESOLUTIONA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article.
