Background Is Missing When Your Screen Saver Quits in Windows XP (821720)

SYMPTOMSWhen your screen saver ends in Microsoft Windows XP, your desktop background may be missing.CAUSEThis problem may occur if all the following conditions are true: - You install Plus! for Windows XP.
- You use the Plus! Aquarium as your screen saver.
- You use a background for your desktop.
- You install Microsoft DirectX 9.0.
- You turn on the sound for the Plus! Aquarium screen saver.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, turn off the sound for the Plus! Aquarium screen saver and then reset your desktop background. To do this, follow these steps: - Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- Click Appearance and Themes.
- Click Choose a screen saver.
- On the Screen Saver tab, click Settings.
- Click to clear the Sound check box.
- Click OK to close the Plus! Aquarium Settings dialog box.
- On the Desktop tab, click a different background, click the background that you want, and then click Apply.
- Click OK to close the Display Properties dialog box.
