BUG: A user can log on to both the Messaging Database and the Address Book with different credentials in Outlook 2003 (821693)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Outlook 2003
SYMPTOMSIt is possible for a user of Outlook 2003 to log on to the
Messaging Database (MDB) with one set of credentials and to the Address Book
with another set of credentials. If this situation occurs, you may experience
the following symptoms:
- You cannot download the Outlook Address Book.
- You cannot access Public folders.
- You receive synchronization errors.
- Other users cannot determine your Free/Busy status to
schedule meeting requests.
CAUSEThis problem occurs if you use more than one Microsoft
Exchange profile, and if you have cached logon credentials to an Exchange
server resource as a different user. You can cache user credentials when you
click to select the Remember my password check box when you
connect to a network resource. Users that have more than one mailbox in the
same domain may also experience this problem. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a
bug in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to"
section.
