PRB: BizTalk XLANG Schedules Do Not Pick Up Messages from Message Queuing on a Cluster (821275)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002
  • Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000

None:SRX030514603890

SYMPTOMS

BizTalk XLANG schedules that are configured to receive messages from a Message Queuing implementation may not pick up valid messages from the Message Queuing queues that they are configured to receive from. When this occurs, no error messages are generated, and the XLANG schedule appears to be ignoring valid messages.

CAUSE

This condition may occur after you install Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) on your BizTalk Server cluster. Because of a Message Queuing regression in Windows 2000 SP3, the XLANG scheduler does not receive notifications that the Message Queuing queue that it is configured to receive from contains valid messages.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, apply the post-SP3 Message Queuing hotfix described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
