BUG: The Acmigrate.exe /import Command Removes Applications That Were Created Before the Import (821112)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Application Center 2000
- Microsoft Application Center 2000 SP1
- Microsoft Application Center 2000 SP2
After you use the acmigrate.exe /export command to export and then import applications after you upgrade to Microsoft Windows Server 2003, you notice that some applications have been removed. Applications that have been removed include those applications that were created between the export and the import. Specifically, the symptoms appear in the following scenario: - Export applications from Microsoft Application Center 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1) by using the acmigrate.exe /export command.
- Upgrade the operating system to Windows Server 2003.
- Run the acmigrate.exe /import command to import the applications.
Notice that some applications have been removed: applications that were created either during the operating system upgrade or by the user before the import.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, create new applications only after you finish the import.STATUS Microsoft has
confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the
beginning of this article.
