SYMPTOMS
An advertised program that depends on another program may run, even though the required program is configured to restart the Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2.0 client computer. For example:
- You advertise Program 1 and select the After Running value to Program restarts computer in the program properties of the package.
- You advertise Program 2 and configure the program properties to depend on the installation of Program 1.
- An SMS client user opens Control Panel, and then starts the Advertised Programs Manager.
- The SMS client user starts the installation of Program 2.
Program 2 depends on Program 1 and automatically starts Program 1. Program 1 runs, but does not restart the computer, and immediately Program 2 runs.
