The ClassView pane unexpectedly scrolls during user input or does not scroll as expected in Visual Studio .NET or in Visual Studio 2005 (820992)

SYMPTOMS

After you work on a project in Visual Studio .NET or in Visual Studio 2005 for a long time, and if you have the ClassView pane displayed, the ClassView pane scrolls both horizontally and vertically. Additionally, when you scroll manually, ClassView unexpectedly returns to the previous position when you release the scroll bar.

When you move the scroll bar and release the pointer out of the focus of the ClassView pane, the ClassView pane returns to the position that it displayed before you scrolled.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, release the pointer when the focus is in the ClassView pane.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
