Offline Message Is Not Synced After It Is Modified on the Server (820849)

SYMPTOMS

In Exchange Server 2003 Cached Mode, when you move a message from one folder (for example, Folder1) to another folder (for example, Folder2) that has a Sync Event that is registered on the server, any changes that the Sync Event makes to the message are not synced back to the client. The message on the server does reflect the changes. When you press the F9 key or press SHIFT+F9 to create a sync request, the client does not collect the message change.

This problem may also occur if:

• You are in Cached Mode.
  
  -and-
• You have a folder (for example, Folder1) that has a Sync Event that is registered on the server.
  
  -and-
• The Sync Event is triggered if the subject of a message contains a predefined keyword.

For example, you may experience this problem in the following scenario:

1. You create a message in Folder1 by posting a message that does not contain the Sync Event trigger keyword.
2. You change the subject of the message that you created in Folder 1 and add the Sync Event keyword to the message subject.
3. The Sync Event on the server is activated by the keyword that you added to the message subject.

After the Sync Event is triggered, changes that the Sync Event makes to the message are not downloaded to the client.
