  • SQL Server Client Tools (SQL Server 2000 version 8.00.194 or later) must be installed on the computer where you want to install SQLXML 3.0.
Q3: When I try to install SQLXML, the setup fails with an error message that indicates that my computermust run Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.6 or a later version. How do I resolve this problem?

A3: Make sure that you have MDAC 2.6 or later installed on your computer before you install SQLXML 3.0 SP1 or SQLXML 3.0 SP2. To find the version of MDAC that is installed on your computer, check the value of the following registry key:

  • Method 1: On the SQLXML setup folder that contains the .msi file, grant the following access permissions to the SYSTEM account on your computer:

    • List Folder Contents

  • Method 2: Grant Full Control access permissions to the Everyone group on the SQLXML setup folder that contains the .msi file.
SQLXML 3.0 uses SOAP Software Development Kit (SDK) 2.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2). During installation SQLXML prompts for SOAP SDK 2.0 SP2. Use SOAP SDK 2.0 SP2 when you use SQLXML Web services.

If the installation of SOAP SDK 2.0 SP2 fails on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, remove Internet Information Services (IIS), install SOAP 2.0 SDK SP2, and then reinstall IIS. At this point SQLXML Web services should run.
