List Remains Filtered After You Delete a Column in a Filtered List (820713)

SYMPTOMS

When you delete a column in a filtered list in Office Excel 2003, the list may remain filtered.

Note Typically, you expect that when you delete a column in a filtered list, the list does not remain filtered.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, follow these steps:
  1. Select the column or columns that you want to delete.
  2. Right-click the selected column or columns, and then click Delete.
  3. Click the AutoFilter arrow in one of the columns that remains, and then click (All).

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
